In this report, we dig into the findings from our recent 84.51° Clickstream Insights analysis, a collaboration between the Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA), 84.51°, and Kroger, which sheds light on critical patterns and preferences of the plant-based consumers, from how they shop online to what terms they search to which generations are engaging most with plant-based.
The surge in digital infrastructure during the pandemic paved the way for a rapidly-growing market for plant-based brands in online shopping: All e-commerce grocery sales have experienced a remarkable doubling in size since 2020, now constituting a substantial 11% of all retail food sales. As retailers increasingly recognize e-commerce’s potential to foster loyalty and cater to shoppers' needs, there has never been greater opportunity for plant-based foods to thrive online.
