The Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA) is the nation's leading trade association representing the U.S. plant-based foods industry. PBFA advocates for fair public policies, promotes consumer choice, and works to expand access to nutritious plant-based foods for all Americans.
Our History
The Plant Based Foods Association was founded in 2016 to bring a rapidly growing industry together and strengthen its voice with policymakers and the marketplace. With an initial coalition of 23 member companies, PBFA officially launched at Natural Products Expo West with a clear mission: to champion, strengthen, and elevate the plant-based foods industry.
Since then, PBFA has grown into the leading voice for the U.S. plant-based foods industry, representing a diverse community of nearly 150 companies. Together, PBFA and its members have secured important policy victories, expanded opportunities for plant-based foods across retail and foodservice, and helped establish the industry as a significant force in the national conversation.
