About Our Data Providers

84.51°: 84.51° uses first party retail data and analytics from Kroger to create results-driven shopper insights. With 84.51°, we conduct our annual Migration Analysis to measure displacement of animal-based foods with plant-based foods and gather unique consumer insights.

Circana: We purchased distributor shipment data, which include metrics on total dollar sales, pound (volume) sales, number of operators purchasing, and more. We are able to view these metrics by operator segment (e.g. educational institutions, quick-service restaurants, full-service restaurants, etc.) and product type (plant-based chicken analog, tofu, etc.). Household panel data, in-depth consumer insights

Innova Market Insights: Innova Market Insights provides the latest product launch data across all food sectors, plant-based consumer insights, and up-to-date reports on recent trends of the food and beverage industry.

Palate Insights: Palate Insights conducted a custom case study for PBFA of 20 restaurants across the US, tracking metrics such as total revenue, ticket size, etc. before and after introducing a plant-based analog menu item.

SPINS: SPINS provides up-to-date POS data across various markets and translates product data into unique attributes to help retailers, brands, and other partners with their strategies or plans. We partner with SPINS to create custom plant-based categories every year and find metrics that accurately reflect the state of the plant-based market.

Technomic: A bulk of our foodservice-specific consumer insights will come from a comprehensive report we purchased in 2023. This consumer report covers consumers’ consumption habits, perceptions and beliefs about plant-based menu items, plant-based preferences in foodservice, and more.
